This altar was part of a renovation and addition project at Christ the King catholic church in Evergreen, Colorado. After a portion of the church was demolished, the client decided to use the reclaimed douglas fir timbers for the construction of new sanctuary furnishings. The final design for the alter was selected from a wide variety of options produced in the early stages of the project (some of which can be seen in the thumbnail images below). Stained alder was used for inlay work throughout the piece and over sized mortise and tenon joints where used for the leg connections.

Steel work done by others. Stained top surface and stained wood panel behind ornamental steel done by others.
